Firstly, in Jeremiah 39 rab mag appears as two words - רב מג - rather than one - רבמג. This is absurd. Mysticism develops because seekers wish to connect with the transcendent order, not because a Persian word catches their fancy.ָAll forms of Jewish mysticism, from about 300 ʙᴄᴇ to the pre-Medieval Sefer haRazim until today, were developed because of this word, raz (ספר הרזים), and the reflections it generated.
